- Here’s the key step for a sturdy stand: Before assembling the mold, incorporate the steel bars (meant for the parasol legs) into the design. Ensure they are positioned correctly to be embedded in the concrete for added stability.
- Mix the concrete:
- In your mixing bucket, combine the sand, ballast, and cement using a 3:2:1 ratio. Ensure everything is thoroughly mixed to create a consistent concrete mix.
- Pouring the concrete:
- Carefully pour the mixed concrete into the prepared mold, ensuring it fills all the corners and reaches the top.
- Curing the concrete:
- Allow the concrete to solidify completely. This typically takes around 24 hours. Be patient and avoid moving the mold during this curing process.
- Demolding and finishing:
- Once the concrete has fully cured, carefully remove the wooden mold.
- You can now paint your concrete stand any color you like! Black is a popular choice, but feel free to get creative and match it to your outdoor furniture.
